PGCV
The Portable GCV Analyzer is designed for rapid on-site analysis of coal to determine its Ash Content, Moisture Content, Gross Calorific Value (GCV), and Net Calorific Value (NCV) under actual field conditions. The instrument can be directly applied to coal piles, station wagons, trucks, and other coal transportation vehicles. Within approximately 60 seconds, the measurement results can be obtained and displayed instantly.
The analyzer utilizes a high-sensitivity scintillation detector to measure the naturally occurring radioactive substances present in coal. Since the natural radioactive content of coal has a direct correlation with its ash content, the measured radiation is processed by a microprocessor-based analysis system to determine the ash content and calorific value of the coal.
The system further incorporates moisture measurement to calculate the corresponding Net Calorific Value (NCV) based on the measured moisture content. This enables fast, convenient, and non-destructive assessment of coal quality directly at the sampling or transportation site, significantly reducing the time required compared with conventional laboratory analysis. The Instrument finds extensive application in Coal mines, Thermal Power Plants, Coal Blending units, Coal Washeriery, Steel Plants, Cement Plants, Coal Handling Terminals etc.
